Hasaacas Ladies arrive in Egypt for maiden CAF Women’s Champions League

Ghanaian champions Hassacas Ladies have arrived safely at the Egyptian capital Cairo for the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The Hasmal Ladies are going into the club continental tournament as the champions of West Africa following their victory over Nigerian side Rivers Angels at the finals of the zonal qualifiers.

The competition has 8 women’s teams from across Africa pitting into two groups of four each and with the top two from each of them cruising to the semi-final and subsequently proceeding to the grand finale.

Coach Yusif Busigi’s side has been placed in Group A alongside host Wadi Degla, Malian champions AS Mande and Malabo Kings from Equatorial Guinea.

Group B will see Vihiga Queens FC of Kenya go against Mamelodi Sundowns FC of South Africa, Asfar Club of Morocco and Rivers Angels of Nigeria.

The teams from Group A will play their matches at the 30th June Stadium while Group B will play their games at the Military Academy.

The TotalEnergies Women’s Champions League will take place from the 5th to the 19th of November, 2021 with Hassacas Ladies taking on Malabo Kings in their opening fixture of the tournament.
