Two suspected thieves were nearly killed after they broke into a house at Millennium City in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The incident occurred on Sunday, May 7, 2023.
The occupants of the four-bedroom self-contained house were at church when the men attempted to rob them.
Unfortunately for the two, they were accosted by some angry residents who subjected them to severe beatings.
However, other residents intervened and handed them over to the police.
The Chief of Gomoa Millennium City, Nana Akwesi Amoani, revealed the suspects came from Tuba in the Ga South Municipality for their operation.
He said his residents have been experiencing a series of robberies for the past eight months and therefore could not watch the suspects escape.
Meanwhile, another suspected thief in his mid-30s was beaten to death at Alico a suburb of Kasoa Ofaakor in the Awutu Senya East Municipality in the same region.
According to reports, the deceased attempted to rob some people on their way to work around 4:30 am on Saturday, May 6, 2023.
Luck, however, run out when he was caught and beaten to death by some residents.
The body has since been deposited at the mortuary by the Ofaakor police pending investigation.
